From her precarious perch, this fearsome foe fires feathery projectiles at our hapless heroes!
Archers are enemies that appear in every Shantae game. They come in purple and blue colorations. Purple is usually their main color while blue variants are tougher.
Archers are primarily found in the Archer Forest. They tend to perch high in the forest's ruins in order to shoot at Shantae from above. Annoyingly, they can shoot their arrows at an angle.
Archers are first fought in the desert. There are two varieties - one shoots single arrows, the other fires them in a rapid barrage. Once again, they make use of high places as a vantage point to take Shantae out.
Purple Archers are fought in Tan Line Island while Blue Archers are primarily fought in the Village of Lost Souls. Most of them are the rapid-barrage variety. They make use of both high and low spaces to get in Shantae's way.
Archers are first encountered in Tassel Town. They will attack the player by firing three arrows in rapid fire succession. These can easily be avoided by crouching. Crawling towards them and attacking them is the best way to defeat them. When defeated, Archers explode into bones and a skull. In previous games, when Archers are defeated they either fall off of their platform or fall into an endless void.
Archers are primarily found in the Laboratory, though they can also be found in the higher parts of the East side of the island. While they have a new look, they have the same attacks as the previous games. Their Monster Card reduces the magic cost of the Rocket when equipped.
A variant called Rocket Archers makes their debut in this game. They're found on various parts of the island, and target Shantae with homing notes from conch shells. Their Monster Card doubles damage dealt by Rockets when equipped.
