Armando Nielo Soto III is an artist, animator, director and occasional producer. He provided unspecified contributions to Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and is expected to be the animation director on Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.

Studies

Armando Soto studied at the California Institute of the Arts in 1999 and 2000.

Career

Armando Soto started his professional career with a brief tenure at Sony Pictures/Happy Madison in 2000 and 2001 as a character layout artist and character animator. He then joined WayForward as a producer, director and designer and remained there until 2005, when he departed, and joined Disney Interactive Studios the following year, as an art director and later game producer for mobile games. In 2009, he founded his own development studio, Sunken Media LLC, and in parallel worked briefly in 2010 at Total Immersion. Although he still works under his own studio, he rejoined WayForward as a full-fledged employee in 2011 as a director and animation department director. He provided unspecified contributions to Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and is expected to work on Shantae: Half-Genie Hero as the animation director. He left WayFoward in May 2015 to join MGA Entertainment as a senior producer, and left MGA in February 2016 to join Tic Toc Games as chief of staff.
