Gigi D.G. was introduced to Matt Bozon by one of her friends who is an artist at WayForward.[1] She was asked to contribute concept art to Shantae: Half-Genie Hero shortly after.
Influences[]
Gigi D.G. loves "cute things, colorful things, and elegant things". She was asked to apply a "bold, 'abstract' style" in her Shantae backgrounds, which were inspired by Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and the paper sculptures of Brittney Lee. She also lists Nintendo's Kirby series, and illustrators like Tadahiro Uesugi (上杉 忠弘) and Erté as influences.[1]
