Henk Nieborg (born November 15, 1969) is a Dutch freelance graphic and pixel artist. He was the lead background artist on Shantae: Risky's Revenge and also worked on Shantae and the Pirate's Curse as a tile set artist.
Career[]
Henk Nieborg has been producing pixel art since 1985 at least, when he was doing it on a black and white TV. His first published project was Ghost Battle in 1990, which earned him his first job at Thalion software.[1] By 1992, he was working on his own and has since worked for a variety of publishers, including WayForward on Contra 4, the Mighty! series or Shantae: Risky's Revenge, on which he was the lead background artist, and Shantae and the Pirate's Curse on which he was a tile set artist. Henk Nieborg works as of today under the proprietorship "Pix in Space".[2]
Influences[]
Henk Nieborg claims his favourite games are of the Metal Slug series, and the Japanese action/shooting games in general.[3]
