Knights are powerful and resilient enemies in Risky's Revenge. When harmed, they will raise their shields to block incoming attacks momentarily, and can stab the ground to send a wave of energy surging through the ground to damage Shantae. They can be found in various points of the game in two different armor colors: red and blue, with the latter variant being more durable. Once defeated, they collapse and turn into dust. Compared with the majority of other enemies, they can take a fair degree of punishment from Shantae.
Appearance[]
Knights are tall and hulking humanoid figures that are completely incased in either blue or red plate armor. Their armor is decorated in gold markings with the helmet possessing a crest. The style of the armor apparently has influences from Late Medieval, Greek, and Roman designs, and has an obvious muscular look to it. As for weapons, knights carry Konda swords, and round shields.
Behavior[]
Shantae: Risky's Revenge[]
Interestingly enough, Knights don't actually swing their swords to attack Shantae directly, instead they pierce them into the ground to send a wave of lighting-like energy across the floor, which requires a well timed jump from Shantae in order to be avoided. Aside from this, Knights will also produce a round shield in order to block ground level attacks from Shantae. During this blocking phase, knights are still vulnerable to overhead attacks.

Trivia[]
- Knights were initially planned to appear as enemies in Shantae: Half Genie Hero, but were ultimately scrapped in favor of other enemy types. Notably, the knights that do appear in the concept artwork appear significantly more broad and muscular compared to how they appear in Risky's Revenge.
