A costal area found in Risky's Revenge. It is located off to the right side of Scuttle Town, and is blocked by a Golem until Shantae gains access to her Elephant transformation.
This area features similar obstacles to Polyp Bay, but is far more dangerous. Scarecrows, Bats, Pincers, and, true to its namesake, Mermaids, are all common enemies in this area. Platforming is also much trickier.
At the far end of the Mermaid Cliffs, Shantae can find the Boat House, where Abner and Poe will give her explosives in exchange for a rotten-egg latte. These can be used to get into the Hypno Tower, which is located just to the right of the screen with the Save Guy.
