Nega-Shantae is an evil clone of Shantae created from her own genie magic. She is the final boss of Shantae: Risky's Revenge.

Risky's Revenge

In the climax of the game's plot, Shantae is forced to surrender the three Magic Seals to Risky Boots so that she can activate the Magic Lamp's power. Upon activation, the first thing Risky does is use the lamp to enslave Shantae to her evil will. Since Shantae is only a Half-Genie, however, the lamp cannot fully enslave her and instead only sucks her genie powers out of her. With Shantae's powers under her control, Risky commands them to destroy their former host, and the collected magic manifests as a miscolored and malevolent version of Shantae in order to do so.

After a long battle, Shantae slays Nega-Shantae, causing the creature to vanish into thin air. Stunned by her surprising loss, Risky taunts Shantae over how she's now a powerless human and escapes.

Powers and Abilities

Nega-Shantae has all of Shantae's transformation abilities, but uses them in ways that Shantae herself can't even match. In Risky's Revenge, Nega-Shantae can transform into a Monkey and attack Shantae with repeated Monkey Bullets, use the Elephant form to jump and stomp on Shantae's head, or become a Mermaid and bombard Shantae with a shower of Mermaid Bubbles.

Trivia

• In the Shantae: 1/2 GENIE HERO Kickstarter game, one of the stretch goals is a new gameplay chapter titled A Dish Served Cold, in which Nega-Shantae returns as an enemy. It is yet unknown as to whether this chapter will appear in the final version of the game.
• As seen in the artwork above, Nega-Shantae has pupil-less yellow eyes in 1/2 GENIE HERO, but in her debut in Risky's Revenge, she had green eyes with pupil.
