ScorpGals are enemies that appear in the first, third, fourth, and fifth Shantae game. They are an aggressive race that live in deserts. They have the head and torso of a human woman, and the claws, body, legs and tail of a scorpion. ScorpGals live apart from their male counterparts.
In the first game both male and females are present, but do not appear together. Instead, they have the desert divided into His and Hers.
Males are distinguished by their turbans. Males will attack by plunging their stinger into the ground that then later appears near Shantae. The player is advised to keep moving when in their part of the desert and attack the males by going near them.
Females will attack Shantae directly and may even follow Shantae.
ScorpGals block Shantae's attacks from the front until they attack using their swords. They have no defenses against attacks from above. When defeated they turn into sand.
ScorpGals were originally supposed to appear in the main campaign, but were cut from the final game. However, they will reappear in the upcoming DLC, Pirate Queen’s Quest.
- ScorpGals were originally supposed to return in Shantae: Half-Genie Hero as they made a debut in the original Kickstarter trailer, but they were cut from the final game. This is possibly due to them having similar appearances and AIs to Bonelegs, a fan designed enemy. It was recently announced that they will return in the DLC, Pirate Queen’s Quest.
