Spittle Maze the first labyrinth in Shantae and the Pirate's Curse , it is located on Saliva Island and is where you acquire Risky's Flintock Pistols.
In order to enter you must give the Petrify spell to the man on Saliva Island. Once you do he will petrify himself and the combined weight of him and his beloved will cause the ground to shatter which will let you gain access to the labyrinth.
In some areas of the maze you will encounter WetMen . The puzzles found here are simple puzzles where you have to enter a cage and trigger a switch either by whipping it or using the pistols.
Boss
The boss of this labyrinth is the Cyclops Plant, "Frighteningly Fixated Flora" in between parenthesis shown beneath its name. It is an easy boss.
First Phase
- Use the pistols to hit the small eye on either corner of the room(they disappear and reappear, so be sure to hit the right one!) to raise the platform in order to attack the cyclops plant with the pistols. You can attack the cyclops plant directly with the regular hair whip if you were standing close enough but you'll most likely get hit if you come in contact with it so it's better not to bother with it.
- The cyclops plant will shoot lazers from its eye and move in attempt to make sure that you get hit, dodge by jumping, running to the other side of the room, or both depending on the situation.
- The eye of the cyclops plant will drip two Slimes at a time at some points during the fight, be sure to kill them as soon as possible or else they could be a bother.
Second Phase
- At this point of the fight the cyclops plant is reduced to just an eye. When it bounces around the room dodge to make sure you don't get hit while attacking it with the hair whip whenever you can, sure unlike the pistols it speeds up the bouncing but whipping will cause more damage.
- When it stops bouncing it will shoot a lazer beam across the room, you can dodge this by either jumping or dodging. A better way of dodging this is to jump over it so that you'd be standing behind it and attack it from there.
